Mens, Dads and Kids Canoe Trip

All men, with or without their children, are invited to join in a canoeing trip from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat West with a picnic lunch on the way on the 8th July.

Children must be over 4 years old. Any person 14 years of age or younger must be supervised by an adult over 18 on a ratio of 1:1,and every canoe must have at least 1 person over 18.

We will be using www.thecanoehire.co.uk. We have arranged for a discount with them, so don't book online, instead call 01600 890 470 and ask for Richard. Say you are part of the group organised by Andy Champness, booking for 12noon on the 8th July, and they will charge you £50 for a 2 person canoe rather than the usual £60, and £60 on a 3 person canoe rather than the usual £70 (remembering the restriction on child / young person / adult ratios).

If you want to share rides to the start point or canoes, either organise your own or contact Andy on 07964 405279 or via andypchampness@gmail.com, who will try and match up people with spaces.

If anyone in your party has a disability, please notify Andy and the Canoe Hire company when you book.

People will need to arrive at the Canoe Hire location in Symonds Yat West by 1145am.

Your hire will include a safety briefing, all equipment, and a transfer from the car park to Kerne Bridge so we only have to paddle downstream back to Symonds Yat West where the cars will be parked.

Make sure you bring a change of clothes (just in case!), hat, sun cream, drinks, snacks and a picnic. We will stop somewhere along the banks of the river for a picnic.

Water pistols are optional, and those who wish to can engage in a water pistol fight at some point on the trip. For those who don't wish to join in there will be plenty of opportunity to stay out of the way.

People will need to book directly as soon as they can to avoid disappointment!

If you want to clarify anything, please contact Andy Champness on 07964 405279 or via andypchampness@gmail.com. Please also let Andy know if you are coming.
