Kintsugi Hope Mental Wellness Course
We are running a free mental wellness course in September called Kintsugi Hope. It aims to encourage emotional well-being and community support. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold to create something more beautiful than before, Kintsugi Hope emphasises that our struggles and brokenness can lead to greater strength and beauty.
Date of Launch: September 11th
For more information on Kintsugi Hope visit, www.kintsugihope.orgalternatively feel free to get in touch with the office.

Parish Safeguaring Officer
As a larger church, we want to prioritise creating a safe and nurturing environment for those of all ages who come to St Andrews. In order to continue doing this to the best of our ability, we need a second volunteer safeguarding officer to work alongside our current PSO, Corinne Phillimore. We are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills who is passionate about ensuring everyone who comes to St Andrew's feels safe and welcome. The role will involve developing and implementing key safeguarding procedures and updating our safeguarding database as we work together to ensure every team member has the relevant training and checks they need. For more information, please speak to Corinne Phillimore or email safeguarding@stastb.church

Joint Men's and Women's Breakfast
you are invited to a special joint men and women's breakfast on Saturday 13th July. We will be thinking about walking with God through change. It will be a great opportunity to explore how God takes us through change and what we can do to support each other during times of major change. There will be the usual full English breakfast. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements and we will cater for them. We will start at 9am and finish by 1030am. You can sign up here.

After School Club
St Andrews are excited to be opening our drop-in after school club from September this year on Wednesdays from 3:15pm-4:45pm. We need two teams of volunteers to alternate with helping with the group fortnightly. This would mainly involve helping to set up and pack down as well as building relationships with the families who attend through crafts, games and most importantly conversations with both children and adults! For more information or to volunteer, contact Kate by emailing children@stastb.church

Summer Holiday Activity Morning
St Andrews Under The Sea Activities morning will be taking place on Wednesday 7th August. This is a drop off event for children aged 4-11 and we encourage you to invite and bring along your friends for a fantastic morning of crafts, games, pirate puppets, water experiments, miraculous Bible stories and more! To find out more or to volunteer, email Kate on children@stastb.church or you can sign up on Churchsuite using this link: Under the Sea Activities Morning (07-Aug-2024) · ChurchSuite Events

BLT Kitchen Team
St Andrews run BLT (Babies, Lunch and Toddlers) every Wednesday during term time from 11:30am-1:00pm and we have a wonderful, friendly team of volunteers who meet on a Wednesday morning to make us some delicious soups for lunch and who then stay to serve the families and clear away. At the moment, our kitchen team is very small so we would LOVE to welcome some more volunteers onto the team to help either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. To volunteer of to find out more, please contact Kate at: children@stastb.church

British Heart Foundation Fundriaser
Graham Philpott is taking on the challenge of the London Triathlon on 28th July in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Come on your own or with a friend to meet others also affected by loss, to share experiences, for space to remember those who have died, and to enjoy a cuppa and cake.

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: 'But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. We have a pastoral care team who can provide this type of care. Please contact Nigel Roe (Team Leader) on 07780 994827 or Rosi White on 07426 357967.
