News and Notices

Update on Church Finances
Please take the time to read the latest update on the church finances. This can be found here.

Youth and Children's Summer Provision
During the summer term, we will be taking a short break from our regular children's and youth groups to give our volunteers a much-needed rest. This means that until September 8th, we will not be running any youth groups on Sunday mornings. There will also be no regular groups for children. However, we will still provide supervised activities after the first 30 minutes of the service, except on all-age Sundays. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Space To Live In - Save the Date
Our next worship night "Space To Live In" will be taking place on the 1st of September starting at 7 pm and running through to 9 pm. Space To Live In is a night of extended worship, prayer, reflection and waiting. We aim to create a Space for people to spend time in God's presence. This will be replacing our usual Encounter service that day.

After School Club
St Andrews is excited to be opening our drop-in after-school club from September this year on Wednesdays from 3:15 pm-4:45 pm. We need two teams of volunteers to alternate with helping with the group fortnightly. This would mainly involve helping to set up and pack down and building relationships with the families who attend through crafts, games and most importantly conversations with children and adults! For more information or to volunteer, contact Kate by emailing children@stastb.church

St Bartholomew's Patronal Day
Everyone is invited to a Holy Communion Service on Sunday, 25th August 2024, at 5 pm to celebrate St. Bartholomew's Day. Refreshments will follow the service.

Thursday Knitters Sale
There will be a knitting sale in the large hall on Sunday, 29th September, following the 9 am and 10:30 am services. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our knitters and find unique, handcrafted pieces. All the proceeds go to the Gloucester Foodbank run by the Trussell Trust.

Giving at St Andrew's and St Bartholomew's
Generous giving is an integral part of Christian discipleship. The apostle Paul says that giving is a primary responsibility for Christians: ‘But since you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you – see that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Cor 8:7. For more information on how to give and where your money goes please download our giving flyer here.

Pastoral Care
As part of our Christian community, we provide mutual support for one another. Much of this happens informally with friends within the church and through the connect groups. However, sometimes people will require more personal support and encouragement either as a 'one-off chat' or on a more ongoing basis. We have a pastoral care team who can provide this type of care. Please contact Nigel Roe (Team Leader) on 07780 994827 or Rosi White on 07426 357967.
